APO is internally structured into three levels of hierarchies (Sections, Regions, and National) - all of which meet regularly, which requires quite a bit of planning and work to organize.įinally, there is service to the nation as participating citizens. In addition to these chapter-level services are the extrachapter services. Founded in 1925, APO is the largest co-ed intercollegiate. There is a large range of opportunity to help, from organizing weekly service projects, to being chairs of various chapter skills, to serving as officers for a term. Alpha Phi Omega is a National Co-ed Service Fraternity whose Mu Iota Chapter calls Lynchburg home. The Alpha Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi Omega is both the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaigns and the nations largest co-educational service. Usually we have a service project within a short commute (usually by T) each week, with projects farther away occuring during the long weekends.īrothers (and pledges!) serve the chapter by running events, both inside the chapter and the fraternity as a whole. Our projects range from painting projects at battered women's shelters in Cambridge and spring cleaning at homeless shelters in Boston to weekend-long construction and destruction projects at nearby scout camps.
